The feature article of this issue is the introduction of the new
"Real Cedar" brand. As an industry we are faced with enormous
competition from non wood substitutes. At times, this threat seems
overwhelming. However when you stop and think about it, it becomes
apparent that there is a corresponding opportunity to distinguish
ourselves from the competition by promoting the "Real"
nature of our cedar. The competition can't do that.
The Real Cedar brand will be the common theme of every advertisement,
piece of literature, signage, publicity article etc issued by WRCLA.
For the campaign to be truly effective, it requires the producing
members to feature the logo on their products to enable the end
user to know they are buying "Real" cedar. We are currently
preparing a branding application package which will feature various
versions and provide application instructions. The REAL CEDAR information
packages will be ready for distribution to our members before the
end of February. We hope we'll have your support.
